2013 National Convention & Expo Since 1977, Sojourner Center has provided shelter and support services to tens of thousands of women and children affected by domestic violence. Through empowerment, families discover hope and have the opportunity to build new futures free from violence. As one of the nation's largest domestic violence shelters, Sojourner Center is a tireless advocate for domestic violence victims and survivors. With the continued support of the community, Sojourner Center can help women and children overcome the impact of domestic violence, one life at a time. While the group was there we took a tour and learned about Sojourner Center’s mission. We split the larger group up into smaller groups for projects in their donation center. These projects helped them to better serve the families who often leave an unsafe situation quickly, and arrive at Sojourner Center with nothing but the clothes on their backs.
